Clark Smith Villazor LLP Secures Probationary Sentence for Client in Insider Trading Prosecution

September 7, 2023

Clark Smith Villazor LLP, with co-counsel Kramer Levin, represented Usama Malik, former CFO of Immunomedics, Inc., who was charged with insider trading in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.  Following a plea agreement and arguments from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey that Mr. Malik should be imprisoned for 10 to 16 months, the Honorable John Michael Vazquez agreed with defense counsel’s argument for a non-custodial sentence and sentenced Mr. Malik to three years’ probation.
