Diana is a seasoned litigator with more than a decade of experience handling complex disputes, enforcement actions, and criminal and regulatory investigations.
She has guided high-stakes matters through every stage—from investigation to trial and appeal—across federal and state courts and in criminal and civil litigation. Before joining Clark Smith Villazor, Diana served as a Trial Attorney at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where she led enforcement actions involving digital assets, market manipulation, and fraud. Her work included serving as lead counsel in motions practice, discovery disputes, fact and expert witness depositions, briefing on dispositive issues, and oral argument in a multi-day summary judgment hearing in the Southern District of New York. In that capacity, she helped secure a favorable ruling on issues of first impression regarding the Commission’s jurisdiction. She also worked closely with other government agencies, including U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and state Attorneys General's Offices, in parallel enforcement matters.
Earlier in her career, Diana served as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County in both the Appellate Division and the Financial Frauds Bureau. She argued approximately fifty criminal appeals before appellate courts, and conducted financial fraud investigations such as large-scale trafficking of counterfeit goods, identity fraud, and scams targeting immigrant communities. Diana began her career as a litigation associate in private practice, where she represented clients in white-collar and securities matters, including representing both corporate and individual clients in criminal and regulatory investigations and in complex civil litigations.
Diana is active in the legal community and serves as Co-Chair of the Prosecutors Committee for the Asian American Bar Association of New York. She is fluent in Mandarin.
